It’s a Nissan Versa, tentatively nicknamed Serenity, because honestly, as big a Star Wars fan as I am, my personality is probably much more in line with a Wash than a Han, even if this is mostly a Solo trip. (Ouch. Sorry.)

Plenty of dashboard space for toy dinosaur battles.

There’s something of the TARDIS about her, too, since she seems bigger on the inside, and there are plenty of convenient pockets and niches for maps and phones and whatnot, and the backseat is easily roomy enough for the cooler full of provisions and other supplies, with the rest tucked in the wayback.

And suddenly this whole trip has become real. Tomorrow will be a day of packing and preparation and making myself exhausted enough to go to bed probably while it’s still light.
