About
I tell stories, true and otherwise.
More? Northeast Ohioan. Dad. Brachiopod hunter. Semi-casual runner. Geek. Writer for 30+ years; started getting paid for it in 1995. A decade as a full-time reporter, columnist and blogger. Freelance projects for magazines, radio and online outlets.
I’ve written two books: “Collect All 21! Memoirs of a Star Wars Geek – The First 30 Years” and a novel, “Crossing Decembers.“
More? My racing name on our pirated Commodore 64 copy of The Great American Cross Country Road Race was Lamborghini Lyle. After the day I finally knocked off the computer-driven All-American Al and took first place, the game never worked again. Sore loser.
Hello, I saw your website when I searched on Beidelschies Upper Sandusky. What great pictures you have I love the one with your grandparents (my aunt and uncle) and Anna Marie (aunt) and friends in the corner booth – it’s an awesome pic. I’m your mom’s cousin Carole Comstock (Leah’s daughter). Hope all is well with your family! Thanks for sharing the pics!
I was googling and saw your comment (on Scalzi, March 2009) about Rosebud and eight is enough in the 80s. You seem to be the only other related hit beside(s?) my post on Sepinwall in Oct of 2008 (I think the post was on SportsNight, which I also never watched). Today Sepinwall noted someone mentioned Rosebud as a spoiler in a comment on The Office. He mentioned it on Twitter. I don’t watch The Office.
Do you know what the guy football team was spoilering for the Bradfords? Or remember the opening where one sister had to watch her favorite show, “That’s Disgusting!” which was a whole (mini) takeoff on the reality shows of the time? It was syndicut and I never saw it when the show reran in the 80s)
Sometime in the 90s, I watched Citizen Kane, and it was because of 8 is enough.
